Claims Recovery Specialist - Property

Under moderate supervision, evaluates legal liability and aggressively pursues, negotiates, and resolves subrogation collection. When on-site investigation is necessary, secures additional information / investigation from referring office. Communicates with insureds, witnesses, attorneys, and underwriters to obtain / provide the necessary information. Works within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. Prepares, reviews, and approves data input into the Loss Accounting System. Handles multi-line and multi-jurisdictional losses.

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position include :

• Interacting effectively with our insureds, brokers, adverse parties / carriers, witnesses, and attorneys in order to effectively complete investigations and collect assets due the company.
• Interacting with national / local regulatory bureaus as needed.
• Recognizing and responding to business opportunities by finding and implementing new resources and evaluating collection practices for ways to increase efficiencies.
• Reviewing bonds, accounting records, invoices and other required material during the investigation and recovery effort and notifying appropriate parties of outstanding issues as needed.
• Networking with other teams, maintaining good communication and information sharing.
• Making the best use of resources available to ensure comprehensive solutions to collections issues.
• Preparing reports outlining investigation findings, analyzing cases and recommending appropriate course of action.
• Recommending and / or implementing collection process improvements, integrating new concepts, approaches and attitudes while remaining focused on goals.
• Monitoring and controlling expenses incurred on claims and salvage cases.

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. In compliance with local laws, Zurich commits to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role. The proposed salary range for this position is $53,400.00 - $87,500.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
