Project Manager
Cimarron is seeking a Project Manager to support a classified program in Springfield, VA. In this position, you will lead and oversee all aspects of project execution from initiation through completion for a construction and facilities management project. This role will be responsible for developing detailed project plans, managing resources, maintaining budgets and schedules, and ensuring all deliverables meet contractual and stakeholder requirements. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on high-visibility projects that support mission success and operational excellence.
Key Duties
- Develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, schedule, resource needs, budget, risk mitigation, and communication strategies for a construction / facilities project.
- Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure alignment across technical, operational, and client-facing roles.
- Monitor and track progress using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Asana).
- Manage and report on project budgets, timelines, milestones, and contractual deliverables.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior leadership, clients, and end users.
- Deliver project status reports and updates, including analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle and develop effective mitigation and contingency plans.
- Ensure all project activities comply with organizational policies, industry best practices, and applicable regulations.
- Conduct post-project evaluations, lessons learned sessions, and contribute to organizational knowledge and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Active TS / SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph (or higher). This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID. Demonstrated experience in program management, including managing multiple projects across functional domains. Strong proficiency in project planning, resource management, risk management, and budget oversight. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Experience overseeing program implementation, tracking progress toward goals, and managing within scope, schedule, and budget. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, proposal writing, and stakeholder engagement. Ability to manage program evaluations and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Working knowledge of change management strategies and techniques. Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field, and 8 or more years of experience, or Master's degree and 6 or more years of related experience. Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

Strong skills in project and program evaluations, measuring outcomes, and identifying areas for continuous improvement. Experience interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to manage deliverables and ensure alignment. Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or other program management platforms. Familiarity with federal contracting environments and relevant frameworks (e.g., FAR, DFARS). Knowledge of change management practices and stakeholder engagement strategies. Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing proposals, reports, and briefings for leadership.
