The Pressman operates printing presses, monitors production, and ensures high-quality printed output. This includes setting up the press, performing maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and managing workflow to meet production deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate printing presses to produce high-quality print jobs, following specifications such as layout, color, and format.
- Prepare press materials including loading inks, substrates, and plates, and adjusting settings to meet job requirements.
- Monitor production quality by regularly checking the printed material for clarity, color consistency, and alignment.
- Troubleshoot printing issues such as color or alignment discrepancies, resolving them promptly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure peak performance.
- Collaborate with pre-press and post-press teams to ensure seamless workflow and address any print job issues.
- Maintain records of production, materials used, and maintenance activities.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
