Job Description

The Breast Oncology & Plastics Physician Assistant performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physician and PA will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our Breast Oncology members.

Essential duties and responsibilities :

Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.

Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentation.

Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.

Define / document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included.

Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols.

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.

Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.

Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements :

Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Accredited by ARC-PA

License / Certification Requirements :

Physician Assistant Licensure by the State of CA

Strong in-patient experience is preferable

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS / ALS)

Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Drug Enforcement Administration DEA certificate

Physician Assistant National Commission on Certification of PAs (NCCPA)

Experience :

Minimum 1 year Physician Assistant experience in an Oncology and Plastics setting strongly preferred.
