About the role

As an Operations Assistant , you are responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient daily operation of the process plant in assisting and supporting the operation to effectively maintain a steady flow of municipal solid waste (MSW) through the process lines in the production of refuse derived fuel (RDF).

Position Responsibilities :

• Follows established operating procedures in completing routine inspections and assigned activities, deviating from normal procedures only as directed.
• Performs daily routine pre-operational inspections of assigned production lines and related equipment and fills out necessary log sheets according to procedures.
• Performs troubleshooting on equipment and immediately reports and documents all unsafe equipment, equipment malfunctions or necessary equipment repairs.
• Performs checks as required by the weekly activities book, the monthly critical items check list, etc.
• Remains continually aware of unsafe working conditions or procedures and takes immediate steps to eliminate the unsafe condition.
• Performs lockout and tagout of equipment in support of maintenance activities.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Performs additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor, or his or her designee.
