Must possess unrestricted mobility to twist, turn, bend, and lean in all directions, look up, down, and side to side without hesitation or discomfort. Except for conventional corrective aids, one must possess normal eyesight, depth of perception, field of vision, normal hearing, quick reaction time, unimpaired eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity. Must possess the strength, mobility, agility, and balance to ascend access ladders and steps, and to maneuver on equipment and vehicles without assistance. Must repetitively lift up to 100-pounds, 10-times a day. Required upper body strength to perform repetitive bending at the waist. Must repetitively climb and dismount from a high vehicle cab 50-times a day. Must repetitively lift up to 60-pounds, 50-times a day. Must possess sufficient strength to continuously operate equipment controls and tools weighing up to 20-pounds for uninterrupted periods of up to 4-hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and / or heat. EMPIRE IS HIRING A MECHANIC!
Southern California's fastest-growing paving contractor is looking for a Mechanic to join our production team. Our office is located in Orange, California and we service the entire Southern California Area.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Service and repair all assigned vehicles, equipment, and associated items without assistance.
- Mobile and or emergency service and repair of equipment or vehicles in the field.
- Develop a preventative maintenance program and service schedule.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for proper operation and condition.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and operational problems.
- Work effectively on gasoline and / or diesel engines, and all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and / or electronic systems.
- Manage pre-trip and post-trip Inspection Reports to identify, track, and complete necessary repair and maintenance.
- Train truck drivers and operators on how to correctly inspect and maintain their assigned vehicles and monitor maintenance activities.
- Accurately document all service and repair work. Maintain complete repair and service reports.
- Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or ability required.
Candidate must have 2-5 years of mechanic or repair technician experience.
The candidate must have a valid CA driver's license and a clean driving record.
