DIRECTOR of FAMILY and COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
SALARY : $ 6,863.58 - $7,959.65 / biweekly
$ 178,453.08 - 206,950.90 / annually

DEFINITION
Under the general direction of the Deputy Executive Director of Program Administration, plans, organizes, and manages the Authority's social service programs for residents and resident communities, including Section 8 voucher participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages the Authority's social and community services programs for participants in the Authority’s housing programs; and
- Assesses the social service needs of Authority residents and participants; and
- Develops linkages with other social service providers and funding sources that will enhance Authority programs and services, including classes and programs specifically designed to foster drug abatement and health education, and improvement in health practices, job search skills, parenting skills, and overall quality of life; and
- Develops and maintains services in the areas of resident relations, and health and welfare and recreation of the Authority’s senior citizen, non-elderly and youth populations, and develops strategies for encouraging participation in such programs, and for developing responsibility and achievement for the populations served by the Authority; and
- Provides supervision and direction to staff and support of resident organizations; and
- Evaluates the effectiveness of these programs and makes appropriate recommendations; and
- Establishes and maintains effective support and interaction between the Authority and social services agencies; and
- Researches and obtains funding sources; and
- Incorporates volunteer support into existing programs; and
- Evaluates and supervises the work performance of staff.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree, with a major in social services or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is desirable.
Five years of experience in developing and delivering social services to low-income communities, at least two years of which must be at the supervisory / management level, with experience in working with resident organizations preferred;
AND must possess a valid California driver's license and have and maintain an insurable driving record.
Bilingual skills in ASL, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and / or Spanish are a plus.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
