Position Summary :

The Leave Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for managing all employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, and other state or company-sponsored leave programs. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, while providing clear communication and support to employees and leaders throughout the leave process.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer and manage all leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, personal, and other applicable leave policies).

Serve as the subject matter expert on leave laws and internal leave policies.

Partner with employees, managers, and HR leadership to ensure consistent and compliant leave practices.

Coordinate leave documentation, approvals, and return-to-work processes.

Communicate regularly with employees regarding leave status, requirements, and next steps.

Maintain accurate records in HRIS and ensure timely reporting.

Collaborate with benefits team to ensure alignment with short-term disability, long-term disability, and other benefits programs.

Monitor changes in leave legislation and update policies / processes as needed.

Provide training and guidance to managers on leave-related topics.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in leave administration, HR compliance, or related HR function.

Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave laws.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite required.
