The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically inclined Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment) to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona . As the Shop Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of material handling equipment repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Shop Technician your key responsibilities will include :

Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery

Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing the best repair options to customers

Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs

Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipment

Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs

Following established warranty processes and completing work order forms

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies :

At least 5 years of heavy equipment repair experience in a related industry, such as material handling equipment or heavy machinery

Relevant Trade Certification is considered an asset

Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset

Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience is preferred

Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders

Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts

Strong work ethic and a positive attitude

High school diploma

Valid driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is : $35.00 to $42.81 per hour depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Phoenix, Arizona .
