Job Purpose :

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides high-quality, culturally respectful primary care services to patients across the lifespan. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the PA supports the clinic’s mission to improve health outcomes for the Sycuan Tribe and our community through accessible, holistic, and coordinated care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and develop treatment plans

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across all age groups

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging

Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty referrals

Document all patient encounters in the EHR in compliance with clinic protocols

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health, and care coordinators

Participate in quality improvement, policy development, and peer review

Provide patient education and preventive care guidance

Support integrated care efforts and warm handoffs

Maintain compliance with Tribal, state, and federal regulations

Job Specifications :

Education and Experience :

Essential :

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Current PA-C certification and unrestricted state license

DEA registration and BLS / ACLS certification

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred

Desirable :

• Experience in Tribal health, FQHC, or rural primary care settings

Skills and Knowledge :

Essential :

Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., NextGen) and UDS reporting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Flexibility to adapt to evolving clinic needs and patient volumes

Ability to research and analyze data to make sound judgements

Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and composure (e.g. HIPAA)

Ability to sit, stand, and perform essential duties of the position

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting of up to 25 pounds
