Job Title : Senior Cloud DBA / ETL–ELT Data Pipeline Engineer

Location : Everett, MA 02149

Duration : 6 Months Contract

Overview

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking Senior Cloud DBA / ETL–ELT Data Pipeline Engineer for an exciting job in Everett, MA.

Responsibilities

Create, configure, and manage cloud-native databases (RDS Oracle, Aurora, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).

Monitor and optimize query execution, compute scaling, and storage performance.

Implement backup / snapshot policies, PITR, and cross-region replication.

Apply security best practices including encryption, access controls, masking, and auditing to meet FERPA / PII compliance.

Manage schema migrations, versioned deployments, and data pipelines.

Lead re-engineering and migration of legacy SSIS ETL processes to modern SQL-based solutions using Apache Airflow for orchestration.

Perform discovery, solution design, re-platforming, debugging, unit testing, and code packaging.

Develop and support Apache Airflow scheduling and dependency management frameworks.

Conduct performance tuning and benchmark new solutions against legacy on-prem systems.

Use Jira for task management and GitHub for version control, code reviews, and pull requests.

Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Oracle RDS .

Experience with AWS services such as S3 , Managed Airflow (MWAA) , and Data Migration Service (DMS) .

Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or Snowflake.

Strong SQL skills and ability to translate Oracle PL / SQL and stored procedures to platforms such as Snowflake .

Knowledge of data warehouse concepts : normalization, fact / dimension tables, SCDs.

Understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) ; experience with Kafka or similar tools is a plus.

Familiarity with JSON, XML, CSV and common data interchange formats.

Basic scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).

Ability to write unit tests and validate migrated ETL / ELT code.

Experience with Apache Airflow including DAG development, scheduling, and dependency management.

Knowledge of Snowflake capabilities : Snowpipe, cloning, time travel, RBAC.

Experience in large organizations; public sector (state / federal) strongly preferred.

Understanding of education and student data domains.

Experience using GitHub, Jira, and modern software development workflows.
