Senior level engineering position requiring a four-year technical degree in engineering. A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in transmission line design experience is required. Professional registration is desirable for this position or ability to obtain within 6 months. FE registration is required for this position. Experience in the use of PLS software is required. Well organized and self-motivated to complete tasks within agreed to schedules. Works under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers. As a fully competent Engineer, independently evaluates, selects and applies engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements. Works with the Engineering Manager and Project Manager to define project objectives, prepare design estimates, and define project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects. Capable of acting as Lead Engineer on single discipline projects or smaller multi-discipline projects, responsible for determining design approach and working with design team to prepare required design documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, calculations, etc.). Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project, or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a routine project. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Capable of preparing and verifying calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application specific software as required. Manages personal task assignments, and for designated projects manages assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget. Must be capable of directing project design teams comprised of engineers, designers and technicians on a single project. Monitors project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Performs technical and coordination checking / review of deliverables and other project documents. Ensures deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements. Follows up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner. Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an on-going substantial component at this level. Identifies conflicting design or schedule requirements and generates Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion May make project level decisions on assigned projects.

Mesa seeks a Senior Engineer who will work with other members of the engineering team to deliver projects of varying complexity and size for our Transmission Line clients. The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and abilities :
