Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Sr. Database Engineer . This position is in support of a contract with the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO. The NNSA has multiple offices and facilities across the United States, with its headquarters in Washington D.C where this position will be located. This is a fully on-site position. These offices and facilities are responsible for various aspects of nuclear security, including stockpile management, nonproliferation, and nuclear security.This position is in need of an Engineer who has configured and deployed MongoDB

Responsibilities Include :

• The Database Engineer will manage and administer the organization’s databases, using database management systems to effectively organize and store data.
• Assess user requirements, design and implement databases, and coordinate changes, collaborating with development and end-user teams to define data access needs, transaction rates, and volume analysis.
• Ensuring optimal database performance and supports the integration and maintenance of databases within the organization.

Requirements Include :

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Over years of experience in Database Engineering
• Design and develop robust database applications using PL / SQL.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and PL / SQL procedures, functions, and packages.
• Collaborate with application developers, database administrators, and other stakeholders to implement database solutions.
• Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve database-related issues.
• Ensure database integrity and security by implementing best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Maintain documentation of database designs, architecture, and changes.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database development.

Qualifications Include :

• Proven experience as a PL SQL Developer or similar role.
• Experience configuring and deploying MongoDB
• Strong understanding of database concepts, design, and normalization.
• Proficient in PL / SQL, Oracle SQL, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of VBA for automation tasks.
• Solid understanding of HTML and CSS for web development.
• Experience with Unix shell scripting for system operations.
• Programming Languages : PL / SQL, VBA, HTML / CSS, UNIX Shell Scripting
• Cloud Technologies : Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM),
• User-managed and co-managed Oracle Cloud Services
• Databases : Oracle, PostgreSQL (PSQL) 8.4.x to 9.5.x (4+ years), MS SQL Server (3+ years), DynamoDB
• 3-tier,2-tier,N-tier architectures
• GIS : PostGIS
• Operating Systems : Solaris, Unix, Hyper-V Linux, Windows, Red Hat Linux, Oracle VM
• Active Data Guard / Data Guard Configuration (5+ years), GoldenGate (5+ years)
