Description of Primary Duties
This posting is for consideration of current, full-time Missouri State University employees only.
The Database Analyst position at Missouri State University is responsible for installing, upgrading and maintaining the Universitys most critical systems. This position supports not only the core Oracle databases, but also the necessary infrastructure for the Universitys enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. A broad range of technologies are used, including Apache Tomcat, Docker Containers, Linux based virtual servers, and various automation platforms. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Education : A Bachelors degree is required. An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
Experience : Two years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in database administration and management, web server administration and management, Linux server proficiency, and troubleshooting complex systems is required. Knowledge of Ellucians Banner software suite is preferred.
Skills : Must be able to perform the duties of an Oracle and MS SQL Server Database Administrator. The ability to apply creativity and logic towards troubleshooting complex issues. Ability to manage multiple concurrent and competing projects and priorities. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with technical writing. The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information processed, stored, and accessed. Develop knowledge and respect for those of other cultures and backgrounds. Proficiency with SQL, PL / SQL, Python, Ansible, and Terraform languages. Proficiency with command line (Bash, PowerShell) interfaces and scripting. Familiarity with automated dev-ops pipelines and Docker containerization is preferred.
Other : The twenty-four hour scope of University operations requires this position to be
available evenings, nights, and weekends to support implementations or upgrades and to respond to calls regarding questions or problems with the Universitys computing systems.
