Job Description
This position is expected to work 20 hours a week. Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join to support statewide efforts to end veteran homelessness as part of the Homes to Heroes initiative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting and synthesizing data from existing data bases in three areas, veteran and homeless veteran population demographics, financial, and service related resources allocated to homeless veteran initiatives. This data will provide a baseline of the current demographics of veterans experiencing homelessness in Arizona and the financial and service resources allocated across the state. From this baseline the Data Analyst will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify trends and make annual projections for the future ten years. The annual projections will be focused on determining gaps in resources or if the resources will be sufficient to house all veterans. Your analyses will play a critical role in our development of a comprehensive state plan to end veteran homelessness.If you have a passion to utilize your Data Analyst skills for a social purpose, this opportunity would be a great fit.Requirements-Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.-Ability to analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform veteran homelessness plan development.-Ability to collect, clean, and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability.-Ability to employ statistical analysis to predict future resource needs to end veteran homelessness.-Ability to clearly communicate findings and projections to the program coordinator, department director, project team and all other internal and external stakeholders.-Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.-Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.-Attend all virtual and team and individual meetings.-Flexibility to attend in office meetings with stakeholders, if needed.Preferred Qualifications -Military service experience or background in working with veteran populations.-General knowledge of the challenges facing service providers and veterans at risk of, or experiencing homelessness.-Two years experience in a similar role. Working Conditions-This position is remote, with a laptop and cell phone provided.
