This position is responsible for product development from formulation to launch; includes ingredient qualification, compatibility, vendor and contract manufacturer evaluation.
Core Duties and Responsibilities :
- Initiate and guide new ingredients through the qualification process with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Work closely with Discovery Research partners to assure all ingredients are qualified and approved on a timely basis
- Assess and develop new nutraceutical ingredients, product formulations, delivery forms and technology platforms
- Assess and vet new product opportunities to determine viability, dosage, regulatory compliance, and scientific validation
- Analyze and evaluate clinical and laboratory research as it applies to the formulation and delivery of new and existing products
- Establish and maintains relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Research competition and stay abreast of industry developments and trends; complete competitive analysis / pricing
- Collaborate with key internal partners (e.g. Purchasing and QA / QC) to source ingredients
for new formulas
