The Corporate Medical Staff Services Manager promotes standards and medical staff practices that are in compliance with the governance bylaws, medical staff rules and regulations and legal requirements as set by the states in which the company operates. This position supports the efforts of the Company to develop and implement streamlined processes within the Medical Staff Office related to policy and procedure development, monitoring and completion of all initial appointments, reappointments and expirables. The Corporate Medical Staff Services Manager is responsible for overseeing Medical Staff appointments and reappointments at designated facilities, ensuring all processes are timely and complete.
Essential Functions :
- Manages Medical Staff Office operations including, but limited to the following : credentialing, privileging, appointment and reappointment process, and assists the medical staff in supporting the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
- Ensures the organization maintains regular cooperation and compliance with all regulatory, accrediting, and membership-based organizations.
- Leads, coordinates, and monitors the review and analysis of practitioner applications and accompanying documents, ensuring applicant eligibility.
- Ensures that all Medical Staff applicants go thorough background investigation, research and primary source verification of all components of the file.
- Performs queries; submits and retrieves National Practitioner Databank reports in accordance with Health Care Quality Improvement Act.
- Identifies any issues that may require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies and ensures appropriate follow up.
- Prepares credentials file for completion and presentation to the Medial Staff Committees, ensuring file completion within time periods specified.
- Ensures that the facilities process requests for privileges, ensuring compliance with criteria outlined in clinical privilege descriptions.
- Responds to inquiries from other healthcare organizations regarding credentialing and privileging issues as they arise.
- Participates in the development of Company policies and procedures including credentialing and privileging documents.
- Provides education to the organization and training to the facility credentialing personnel related to the Medical Staff policies and procedures and credentialing / privileging functions.
- Serves a resource for the organization as it relates to Medical Staff policies and processes.
- Completes other assigned duties under the direction of the Corporate Director, Health Information Management.

Subject to many interruptions. Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
