Customer Relations Associate

The Customer Relations Associate performs various customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and direction to customers.

Essential functions include securing all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks, checking in all vendor representatives, completing the necessary visitor log information, and controlling the visitor badges. The role also supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. Other duties include greeting all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner, handling customer's merchandise returns, sorting returns by category, and selling appropriate hunting and fishing licenses. The associate also handles and administers all incentive and reward programs, remains product knowledgeable, and keeps the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies. They follow all company policies and procedures and provide a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions.

Experience / qualifications include a minimum degree of a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, communicate in a friendly and professional manner, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and operate a computerized point of sale register system.

Travel requirements are not applicable. Physical requirements include constantly standing and / or walking during shifts, constantly communicating with others to exchange information, constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and / or fingers, occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc., occasionally working in low or high temperatures, occasionally working in noisy environments, and light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).

Independent judgment is required to perform tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
