The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) is hiring an Assistant Chief of Automotive Equipment Services II to assist in administering the divisions programs and activities in the following areas : Administrative Office Storeroom Operations Vehicle / Equipment Support Services & Repair / Maintenance Functions.

What Youll Do

• Assist in managing division operations : Supports the Chief in planning coordinating and directing maintenance repair and inspection activities for a large fleet of light medium and heavy vehicles and construction equipment.
• Oversee fleet programs and compliance : Reviews and evaluates operational procedures ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards and develop methods to monitor cost efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide leadership and supervision : Conducts meetings resolves operational and personnel issues evaluates staff performance and ensures consistent application of department policies.
• Support budget and procurement activities : Assists in preparing operating and CIP budgets manage expenditures for tools materials and supplies and review specifications for new or replacement vehicles and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in business administration public administration or a related field.

Substitution : Work experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge skills and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelors degree.

For example :

Four (4) years of professional work experience in any occupation may substitute for a general bachelors degree.

F our (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in automotive fleet management and maintenance (e.g. Heavy Vehicle Repair Supervisor or equivalent) may substitute for a general bachelors degree.

The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college / university in the United order to receive credit for the education proper documentation e.g. a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :

Three years of managerial or supervisory experience in the purchase repair maintenance and overhaul of a variety of light medium and heavy gasoline diesel and alternative fuel automotive equipment.
