Job Description

A GIS System Drafter maintains geospatial databases, and supports engineers, planners, and analysts with cartographic and drafting expertise.

Core responsibilities

• Update maps and plans using GIS systems to meet project specifications and standards
• Convert field survey data, as-built information, and spatial datasets into clean, georeferenced GIS layers
• Maintain geospatial data integrity : perform topology checks, attribute validation, and data cleaning; document workflows and metadata
• Coordinate with project teams : incorporate feedback and ensure deliverables meet technical and QA / QC requirements
• Manage file organization and standards : apply naming conventions, coordinate systems, projection standards, and backup procedures
