Although many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not entirely remote. In-person participation is essential at various times throughout the year, with team and company-wide offsites occurring multiple times annually to nurture collaboration and connection. As an Applied Scientist within our Data Science organization, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative models that address crucial tradeoffs and drive significant business value.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and deploy robust causal inference models to assess the overall business impact of new product launches (e.g., PSM, Double ML).

Lead the establishment of measurement standards for new product and feature launches.

Provide technical mentorship to colleagues in the data science team.

Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, guiding our product development process.

What We Look For :

PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics or Statistics, with 8+ years of prominent industry experience.

Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other relevant programming languages for data analysis and statistical modeling.

Deep expertise in a range of quasi-experimental methods, both theoretical and applied.

A proven ability to influence business and product strategy through data-driven, causal insights, along with the capability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated alignment with our core cultural values : clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in fintech or crypto industries.

Specific experience in pricing models, marketing attribution, or customer LTV modeling.

Familiarity with the unique opportunities and challenges presented by crypto businesses and blockchain data.

Pay Transparency Notice : Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range between $207,485 and $275,000 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
