Vaco is hiring for a Senior Systems Administrator opportunity in Charlotte NC

Direct Hire, Onsite

Salary : 80-95,000 / yr

Key Responsibilities

Project & Systems Management

Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, license remediation, and network optimization initiatives.

Perform ongoing software license cleanup, compliance verification, and lifecycle management of all enterprise licenses.

Oversee procurement, tracking, and asset management for cell phones, laptops, tablets, and other endpoint devices.

Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Network & Infrastructure Support

Manage setups, configurations, and ongoing IT operations for multiple remote sites , ensuring uptime, secure connectivity, and reliable data flow.

Monitor and analyze network traffic, performance, and security alerts.

Support “phone-home” network architectures and centrally managed device / reporting systems.

Provide advanced firewall management, troubleshooting, and rule configuration—preferably with Palo Alto technologies.

Systems Administration

Administer Office 365 / Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, device management, and user provisioning.

Support Intel on Prime solutions and related infrastructure components.

Manage VPN connectivity using GlobalProtect (Palo Alto) , including secure client rollout, support, and policy configuration.

Perform server, workstation, and network equipment setup, configuration, and maintenance.

Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance and monitor environment health.

End-User Support & Collaboration

Provide Tier 3 support for escalated system, network, and application issues.

Train and mentor junior IT staff.

Work closely with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate solutions.

Qualifications

Required

5–8+ years of experience in IT systems analysis, systems administration, or infrastructure support.

Strong expertise with :

Office 365 / Microsoft 365

Palo Alto GlobalProtect

Firewall management (Palo Alto preferred)

Intel on Prime

Experience supporting multi-site remote environments .

Proven ability to manage technical projects from planning through completion.

Experience with asset management systems and inventory control.

Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.
