Academic Advising And Student Services Coordinator

Develop knowledge of degree plans and academic programs required to assist students in the formulation of class schedules that meet specific degree requirements and promote progress toward degree. Connect students with faculty, college advisors, and University resources for major selection, internal transfer applications, degree planning, academic support, and career preparation. Ensure students engage in the academic advising and registration process. Assist Academic staff and Student Services leadership with assigned student caseloads as directed. In collaboration with Student Services leadership and staff, support successful academic onboarding. Aid students in understanding UT academic systems and processes. Assist in educating students on institutional and NCAA academic requirements from initial enrollment through graduation. Develop and maintain knowledge of policies and procedures for documenting degree progress and tracking continuing eligibility. Monitor student academic performance and provide individual status updates to Academic Coordinators and Directors. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized academic support plans with Student Services staff. Continuously evaluate and monitor students progress to ensure appropriate academic support is in place. Provide direct academic support to students in collaboration with Academic leadership, Coordinators, Learning Specialists, and part-time staff to create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment. Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential student academic files. Communicate routinely, professionally, and effectively with students and staff, maintaining a student-focused perspective. Assist Student Services leadership with administrative academic processes and development and implementation of academic programming. Assist in meetings with prospective students in the recruiting process to discuss academic opportunities and resources, in accordance with NCAA rules and departmental policies. Engage in ongoing professional development regarding student learning and academic success. Participate in interviewing and training processes of part-time Student Services staff (e.g., tutors). Uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and exemplify the mission and values of The University of Texas at Austin. Drive a UT or rental vehicle on and off campus. Consistently exemplify the core values and quality service standards of Texas Athletics. Always act ethically. Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department / sport program. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and / or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation.
