Job Summary

This position is responsible for promoting the University of Portland, generating new applications and enrolling students from various assigned recruitment territories. As a member of the University of Portland admissions team, this position will develop and implement recruitment strategies and programs aimed at achieving the University's enrollment goals.

This position administers, implements, and interprets University admission policies and procedures under minimal supervision. Specific duties of this position include : reviewing applications, conducting informational sessions, and managing relationships and programs within assigned geographic areas. This position reports to the Director of Recruitment, Undergraduate Admissions.

Core Duties

  • Read, evaluate, and make first level recommendations about undergraduate applications.
  • Maintain effective communications with the departments of Financial Aid and the Registrar, reviewing records and transcript evaluations as necessary to facilitate efforts in the application process.
  • Conduct informational sessions for internal and external communities.
  • Manage a heavy travel schedule to assigned geographic territories during established recruitment cycles.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with relevant institutions and persons, including secondary schools and professionals at schools, professional organizations, students, parents, and alumni.
  • Serve as a resource to other departments; represent the Admissions Department at activities and events, meetings, committees, and conferences.
  • May be responsible for the administration or management of specific programs and / or program budgets as assigned.
  • Develop and lead social media campaigns and strategies for student engagement.
  • Organize and facilitate events for prospective students on campus and at off-campus recruitment events, including those out of state.

Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Education & Experience

  • Required : Bachelor's degree and two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred : Experience in higher education and / or experience at the University of Portland.
  • Preferred : Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.
  • Or a combination of equivalent education and / or experience.
  • Certifications & Licenses

  • Required : Valid Driver's License.
