Job Description

Job Title : QA Coach

Shift : 3rd shift(Must be able to train on 1st shift)

Summary :

This position is primarily responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality practices as required through SQF and Federal and company requirements / policies. This position will be responsible for checking and documenting various quality parameters as directed company's procedures / policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

• Completes the Daily Quality Checklist by examining various areas of the facility acting as primary Safety / GMP Auditor.
• Follow and enforce the work and GMP rules of the facility.
• Monitor adherence to Dewey's Quality programs and Food Safety regulations for the Kimwell and Jonestown facility's with time and attention spent at both facility's.
• Participates in the training and implementation of Dewey's programs.
• Serves as a coach and trainer to QA Technicians and QA / Production Associates.
• Creates and maintains the work schedule for QA Technicians.
• Documents training progress and associate counseling as needed when required.
• Addresses quality / food safety issues uncovered as needed.
• Acts as workplace safety advocate helping to identify and address safety issues, improvements and near misses.
• Makes quality decisions on the line and reports any discrepancies or food safety / quality problems to the shift Production Manager and QA Leadership.
• Communicates clearly with management and other employees.
• Maintains retain sample inventory and creates a monthly sample report for disposal and / or donated QA retains.
• Maintain weekly sensory documentation.
• Collect product samples for external lab testing and schedule shipment in accordance with testing requirements.
• Input lab results generated from sample submissions.
• Serves as Quality resource for R&D runs on the big line.
• Works with Mixers to verify batches to ensure the right batch, ingredients, etc. and signs off on paperwork.
• Review physical and electronic production paperwork to ensure that all required entries and documents are accurately completed and signed by the required personnel.
• Maintains the filing system for completed production packets in the designated cabinets and properly stores the documents at the end of each year.
• Involved in root cause investigation on metal detectors and other non-conformances.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• When First Production occurs, assist with ensuring correct specs, sensory, appearance, moisture, packaging, labels.
• Backs up Quality Technician and QA / Production Associate positions when they are not present and / or as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
