Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Senior Audio Engineer is to manage, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot audio hardware and software in an audio / video over IP environment. This senior level position will implement design efficiencies and take responsibility for our Dante network’s signal pathing and audio quality.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with Company and departmental policies, practices, and procedures. All Company Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage, maintain, and calibrate audio related hardware, software, and our Dante network in a live online gaming environment.
Work with our network engineering staff to test and implement Dante network design changes.
Monitor Dante Domain Manager for network outages and increases in latency.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with audio equipment and intercom systems in a live production environment.
Partner closely with the product, creative, design, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure the audio for our livestream products is of the highest quality.
Operate and maintain a digital mixer during live and recorded events and broadcast / video productions, adjusting sound levels and applying equalization as needed.
Manage the recording of voiceover elements, and edit them using Logic Pro.
Lead efforts in the proper storage, maintenance, and inventory of audio equipment.
Stay up-to-date with the latest audio technologies and industry trends.
Assist in AV systems integration projects.
Work with a large collaborative team to create a best-in-class product.
Manage and mentor one or more junior to mid-level audio engineers, including hiring, organizing work and adherence to policies, and monitoring and evaluating performance.
Perform all job responsibilities at a senior level with limited direct supervision.
Perform job duties in a safe manner.
Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 21 years of age.
Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
3+ years of professional audio engineering experience with a focus on designing and maintaining Dante driven networks and facilities.
Intimate knowledge of Dante Domain Manager, Dante Controller, and Dante Virtual Soundcard.
Knowledge of the usage and configuration of audio plugins within video switchers.
Knowledge of AV using NDI and basic digital networking in an AVoIP environment.
Working knowledge of studio microphone, speaker and monitoring equipment.
Working knowledge of studio control room systems, specifically video switchers, control surfaces and related components.
Understanding of AV system design.
Working experience in audio editing or DAW software such as ProTools, Cubase, Logic, Audition, or equivalent.
Proven expertise in studio audio streaming, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering.
Experience in gaming and technical industries preferred.
Level 3 certification in Dante a plus.
Working experience with RTS or similar intercom systems a plus.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in spoken and written form.
